Programme on Child Rights

Navachar Sansthan made efforts to open schools and anganwadi centres in the villages and also made the children to get enrol in the schools. It is also arranging for the teachers and the basic amenities in the schools established earlier.

Programme for Adolescent Girls

It is seen that there is no source of solution to the questions, curiosities and problems of rural adolescent girls and due to this they feel alone, mentally disturbed and distracted. To solve these problems Navachar Sansthan provides them training on the issues related to their health, gender equality, life skill education, problems of adolescence, and changes during adolescence and solutions to their problems and livelihood.

HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care Programme for Rural and Tribunal Youth

A large number of people from the operational area of Navachar Sansthan migrate to other states in search of their livelihood and get infected with AIDS. This made the Sansthan starting programme to make the youths aware of the dreaded disease and got support through making peer educators among them. It formed 121 boys and girls committees and provided training to 57 panchayati raj institution leaders with an objective to get support of public representatives regarding the issues. It also provided training to anganwadi workers of women and child development department and the ANMs. In addition it has also organised street plays and cultural programmes through its kala jathhas and took to slogan writing to build up awareness regarding the issue. With the help of volunteers, the Sansthan distributed condoms free of cost. During the project it also provided training on sewing, spices grinding, nursery raising and vermicompost making with an objective to increase the income of the targeted group.

The Sansthan also distributed free of cost medicines to the RTI/STI patients in the health camps conducted with support from health department. The suspected cases of HIV were referred to the district hospital. The Sansthan is making efforts to link itself with PLHA network formed in the state for the care and support of HIV affected persons.
