NAVACHAR SANSTHAN

Navachar Sansthan works in over 100 villages of three development blocks of Kapasan sub-division namely Kapasan (60 villages), Bhopalsagar (30 villages) and Rashmi (10 villages). Kapasan is the sub-division headquarters of Chittorgarh district in south Rajasthan. It is situated at a distance of 80 km east from Udaipur and 40 km west from Chittorgarh. It is well connected by rail and road from both the places.

Chittorgarh has archaeological and historical importance in the history of India. Legendary Queen Padmini committed jauhar (self-immolation to keep honour) here and Pannadhay made a history of loyalty. This is the land of sacrifice, renunciation and valour. Chittorgarh is also an important tourist place.

The people in this region are principally reliant on agriculture and cattle rearing for their livelihood which however are constantly affected due to frequent droughts. For the past 5-6 years the organisation is making efforts on National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) and laws related to child rights and forest rights in about 20 tribal villages of Chhoti Sadari development block.
